Introduction to Channels

The Channels Palette contains grayscale images that store color information in individual channels within a color space like the RGB or CMYK color modes. It is also used for adding additional color plates which are generally used for professional print jobs. Last, but not least, the Channels Palette allows one to add Alpha Channels which are used for creating and storing selections. This class introduces students to the basics of this powerful palette. Students will learn how to add Spot Channels, how to create an Alpha Channel Mask along with a few Alpha Channel tips and tricks and lastly, students will learn how to mix colors with the Channel Mixer.
